Weapon Systems Design Engineer
A Weapon Systems Design Engineer with CREO 2 experience is required to work on a six month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Cumbria.
This is a 6 month contract working with a leading UK defence company.
Overview of the Weapon Systems Design Engineer contract role
A vacancy has arisen for a professional Design Engineer to work within the weapons design team on projects from design and development stage through to the final manufacture and implementation.
Key skills required for the Weapon Systems Design Engineer
- 3D CAD (PTC Creo2).
- Degree level or equivalent in a mechanical engineering discipline or HNC.
- Structural/Stress analysis (MS Excel, Mathcad, FEA {PTC Simulate/Ansys}).
- System control (Matlab/Simulink).
- Hydraulic system design.
- Pneumatic system design.
- Advanced Materials: Composites, Additive Layer Manufacturing.
The role is based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria - commutable from Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Lancaster, Morecambe, Penrith, Workington, Whitehaven and The Lake District
