Principal Safety Engineer- Submarine
A Principal Safety Engineer with Subsea experience is required to work on a twelve month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Cumbria
This is a 12 month contract working for a leading UK defence company.
Overview of the Principal Safety Engineer contract role
As the Principal Safety Engineer you will be responsible for implementing safety processes and plans in large complex systems (hardware & software), Developing safety processes, Developing Safety Management Plans (SMPs), Hazard identification and analysis as well as Qualitative and quantitative analyses on Submarine projects.
Key skills required for the Principal Safety Engineer
- Ideally Degree qualified and Chartered Engineer or having a portfolio under consideration by an appropriate parent institution.
- Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person who is capable of undertaking safety analyses
- DEF-STAN 00-56
- A combination of appropriate engineering experience and safety case development through a minimum of 3-years within submarines, design, and justification
The role is based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria - commutable from Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Lancaster, Morecambe, Penrith, Workington, Whitehaven and The Lake District
