Description

Sopra Steria Recruitment is working in partnership with a major public sector in the UK. We are currently recruiting Commercial Officer for 5 months initially with possible extension.

Additional qualifications required for this role:

  • Support the team in delivering departmental goals
  • Create strong working relationships within own team as well as other parts of the Commercial function across client and beyond across client
  • Support a proactive working environment and be flexible in the approach to tasking
  • Comply with all mandatory requirements eg H&S training etc.
  • Manage commercial activity within the level of own Commercial delegation/Licence.
  • Input to Procurement Strategies as required
  • Input to Commercial Strategy and associated contracting strategy as required
  • Compile and issue tenders when required
  • Place contracts
  • Amend and manage contracts and contract changes
  • Offer commercial advice and guidance as required
  • Ensure commercial arrangements represent best value for money
  • Comply with regulations and policy affecting procurement and adopt commercial best practice
  • Use commercial enabling arrangements whenever possible as the default
  • Exploit use of commercial enablers and associated MIS where possible
  • Undertake supplier management
  • Maintain auditable records of commercial activities
  • Assure own commercial activity
  • Contribute to Commercial Assurance Plans
  • Input to self assurance returns for own area
  • Ensure complete and accurate contract data
  • Collaborate with members of the Acqusition team including project, technical, finance and specialist staff, to deliver Customer requirements
  • Undertake efffective Stakeholder engagements within teams, across client and Industry
  • Engage Stakeholders on planning and aspects of commercial activity
  • Engage Stakeholders as appropriate in the Approvlas process
  • Identify ways to imporve commercial processes and ways and working to increase efficiency
  • Take an active role in all aspects of Commercial ommunications
  • Make full use of the E-procurement tools -including P2P, ASPECT and Reverse Auctions where appropriate
  • Understand the importance of accurate MI and the role of DEFFORMs in capturing key contracts information
  • Manage resources to secure best value for money and best use of resource
  • Support the development of robust Business Cases to support value for money
  • Provide accurate and timely inputs to returns as required
  • Manage commercial activity within the level of own Commercial delegation/Licence.
  • Input to Procurement Strategies as required
  • Input to Commercial Strategy and associated contracting strategy as required
  • Desirable - MCIPS (or working towards)
