Description
Our client, a Public Sector authority, are looking for a Risk and Opportunity Manager to join the existing team on an initial 6 month day rate contract. Reporting into the Programme Manager.
You will manage the risk portfolio for this programme and some your duties will be as follows:
* Lead the work to ensure that the Programme are managing risk and opportunities
* Define, establish, and assure the arrangements for managing risk and opportunity in the Programme
* Support the Programme's management team in determining and maintaining risk appetite
* Establish and maintain the Programme's Risk and Opportunity registers
* Ensure programme-level risks are appropriately identified, analysed, owned, resourced and managed, providing support and advice to risk owners as necessary
* Support and assure project-level risk and opportunity management, maintaining a two-way flow of information between the Programme and its projects
* Assess how effective response actions have been and whether risks or opportunities have materialised;
* Monitor performance by gathering relevant data, analysing information and evaluating the results, and by maintaining appropriate MI and dashboards;
* Ensure the Risk and Opportunity service provided to the Programme is continually improved (eg via Lessons Learned), and that arrangements are in place for an appropriate transfer of skills and knowledge.
To be considered for this role, you must have the following:
* Significant experience of setting up, delivering a risk service to a programme
* Significant experience in managing risk and opportunities within a large transformation programme
* Ideally you will be risk qualified
* Experience of working in structured (waterfall), agile and hybrid environments, and understanding how these affect the approach to risk and opportunity management
Ideally you will have public sector experience.
