Purpose of the role
Support the Retail Problem Debt Management Business deliver key projects:
- Legacy mortgage system migration
- MI Transformation
The successful candidate will:
- Complete technical analysis of SAS code and MI process, procedures & reports impacted by the mortgage system migration.
- Design, Build & Test changes required as a result of technical analysis completed.
- Complete technical analysis of Retail Problem Debt Managements data warehouse model, data point mapping & documenting of data lineage.
- Analysis of existing manual processes with a view to automation
- Analyse, Design, Test existing operational & regulatory reporting
Deliverables: criteria/results by which success can be measure
- Identifies situations where portfolio performance does not meet expectations, identifies cause and makes recommendations for change where appropriate
- Circulates proposals for consultation, collates and evaluates feedback and updates proposals appropriately
- Ensures key drivers of business performance are understood
- Actively engages with other business functions through engagement on segment reviews, new product proposals, scorecard cut-off changes, policy amendments etc and provides support or recommendations for change in light of market intelligence and/or emerging portfolio trends
- Develops new methods of improving understanding and knowledge of the key drivers of portfolio performance to inform risk decisions and wider business strategy
- Developing the internal skill set with required Strategy/modelling techniques for future strategic changes
Experience: Relevant experience for the role
- Previous experience in a Credit Risk Problem Debt area
- Proven experience in linking business needs and information to deliver business focussed solutions
- A well-developed understanding of the concepts of Retail Collections Credit Risk
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to engage with and influence senior stakeholders
- Decision making skills - experience at making decisions commensurate with the role
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to plan and organise work to achieve high quality results
- Ability to build and maintain a network of colleagues across the organisation
- Proven ability to develop & influence effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Highly motivated and innovative
- Proven analytical aptitude and the ability to challenge results and create solutions
Other Significant Role Requirements:
- Ability to build support for agreement by utilising a variety of information sources and presenting credible proposals
- Proven ability to create and implement solutions to business issues
Technical Knowledge:
- Detailed knowledge of Collections & Problem Debt Management portfolios
- Understanding of the economic, legislative and regulatory environment across the island of Ireland including trends and expected developments
- Experience in or sound knowledge of front-line business
- Knowledge of credit risk systems and infrastructure - Probe, Debt Manager
- Excellent knowledge of SAS/SQL and Microsoft packages.
- Experience in implementing and managing changes to Risk strategies
- Financial Management:
- Has a good understanding of Financial Analysis and customer level credit risk issues.
