Description

We are looking for an Internal Communications Coordinator to join a market-leading Aerospace and Defence company for a position based in Reading.

Primary Purpose of the Role:

This role is to support the delivery and effectiveness of the UK communications strategy and delivery, focusing on the effective deployment of our Ambition 10 vision and annual Ambition Boost Performance Plan delivery, including Group profitability (MYB) commitments across an evolving UK Matrix, as well as ensuring all enterprise-wide internal communications are aligned to and drive engagement with the companies brand and E mployee V alue P roposition (EVP).

Reporting to the Head of Internal Communications, the primary purpose of this role is to develop and deliver the companies internal communications campaigns strategy and implementation programme that is totally aligned with the core UK internal communications strategy and implementation programme through:

  • Strategic business partnering.
  • Campaign planning.
  • Story telling

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

Strategic business partnering:

  • Develop a rolling annual CBU internal communications strategy, agreed by the UK Head of Communications and CBU COMEX, which creates an overarching leadership vision and voice for the CBU, based on our Ambition 10 vision and Ambition Boost Performance Programme, and which optimally integrates Group, UK and CBU priorities and drives engagement with the company brand and EVP.
  • Based on feedback from the people survey, create, agree and deliver effective internal leadership engagement programmes that close the gap between CBU leadership and colleagues.
  • Ensure corporate activity and events, including company H1 and year-end financial performance and actions resulting from the delivery of corporate strategy (eg, divestitures), are communicated effectively to all relevant internal audiences.
  • Represent the CBU and/or UK Communications team at events where appropriate and agreed by the Head of Internal Communications.
  • Support agreed Function(s) as Internal Communications Business Partner and develop strategic campaigns to support business objectives.
  • Travel to and provide strategic support to all sites (including customer sites) as required
  • Be a team player and share best practise across the functional team and CBU.

Campaign planning:

  • Ensure that the annual rolling programme supports the timely delivery of Group, UK and CBU systematised activity (eg, PDD) and CBU-specific activity.
  • Project manage delivery of campaigns on message and on budget.
  • Manage and prioritise multiple tasks and projects with a sense of urgency.
  • Maintain templated employee feedback loops and measurement, as agreed with the Head of Internal Communications.
  • Provide internal stakeholders with regular (templated) updates on CBU internal communications delivery, supporting the Head of Communications' reporting requirements.
  • Ensure that campaign deliverables support the Brand Guidelines and match relevant procurement and delivery processes.
  • In agreement with the Head of Internal Communications, act as lead business partner for UK wide Internal Communications campaigns as required.

Story telling:

  • Develop an annual strategic message platform that motivate colleagues to understand and take the appropriate action to achieve our Ambition 10 vision, Ambition Boost Performance Plans and CBU strategic priorities.
  • Ensure that all written content (Intranet news, leadership emails, presentations, etc.) is on message.
  • Demonstrate excellent presentation and writing skills (ie, produce clear, compelling, motivating content quickly).
  • Encourage and facilitate a culture of dialogue amongst audiences
  • Build the Story' enabling individuals to understand how their day-to-day role contributes to the success of their CBU/Function.

Experience:

Essential

  • Leadership business partnering.
  • An in-depth knowledge of internal communications disciplines, change communications and BAU communications activities.
  • Demonstrable experience of understanding business requirements and translating these requirements into an annual rolling internal communications strategy and implementation programme that supports (and flexes with) these requirements.
  • Ability to deliver within an allocated budget.
  • Proven ability to recognise a newsworthy story and deploy the relevant tactics to optimise its impact.
  • Proven writing ability for print, online and briefings, for a range of internal stakeholders.
  • Strong, demonstrable project management skills.
  • Strong, demonstrable team working and best practise sharing skills.
