Senior Civil & Structural Engineer
A Senior Civil & Structural Engineer is required to work on a twelve month contract, with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Preston.
This is a 12 month contract working with a leading UK defence company.
Overview of the Senior Civil & Structural Engineer contract role
The role includes working with clients and stakeholders to turn requirements into concept and developed designs, the production of concept/developed design documentation, liaising with our customers and contractors, reviewing third party design and construction drawings and material specifications, executing technical site surveys and writing reports.
Key skills required for the Senior Civil & Structural Engineer
- Chartered Engineer ECUK Status or actively working towards.
- Degree qualified in a Civil & Structural discipline.
- NEBOSH or other industry recognised safety qualification is desirable.
- Post-graduate work experience within the construction industry.
- Experience in the design and specification of Civil & Structural elements and the ability to produce technical construction drawings and details.
- Experience of marine civil engineering is desirable.
- Experience of structural design in concrete and steel to British Standards/Euro codes is essential.
- Capability in the use of AutoCAD and/or Revit 2015 BIM Level 2-3 would be desirable.
- Good level of general IT computer skills including MS Word, Excel etc.
- Previous experience of working in the defence sector or on UK MOD Sites would be desirable.
The role is based in Preston, Lancashire - commutable from Blackpool, Lancaster, Morecambe, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Skipton, Stockport, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham with excellent access from Liverpool and Leeds
