Description

An Abu Dhabi Investment Management Company are looking for a Senior IT PMO to manage a number of IT Projects in the Liquids Department - Equities/Fixed Income.

To be successful in the role it is important that you are able to demonstrate a wide range of skills and abilities, not limited to but is focused on the following:

  • When partnering with key business stakeholders, have the ability to define and agree project scope, goals and deliverables.
  • Development of resource plans aligned with the overall plan (eg identify appropriate IT staff; use of third parties; non-IT resources).
  • Excellent communicator, able to manage stakeholders' expectations at all levels and in particular, comfortable with providing updates to senior management.
  • Capable of managing scope while delivering core project business needs.
  • Task manage IT staff allocated to the project, ensuring that they have clearly identified roles and accountabilities.
  • Ability to critically review deliverables, ensuring that they are fit for purpose.
  • The ability to quickly identify and articulate issues with a view to putting in place actions to resolve and minimize any adverse impact.
  • Should have hands on experience running projects using different methodologies and be able to exercise judgment in the choosing the appropriate approach. Types of project delivered preferably include both vendor package and bespoke development.
  • Practical experience of running projects using an agile methodology. A certification in agile project management (eg PMI Agile Certified Practitioner; Certified Scrum Master, etc.) would be a great plus.

Strategy and Planning

  • Stakeholder management
  • Develop detailed project plans that support business objectives.
  • Creation of effective project governance and team structure.
  • Able to communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely fashion.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Track milestones and progress, identifying variances from plan and ensuring mitigating actions are agreed and in place.
  • Conduct post implementation reviews, identify improvement opportunities and where possible embed these into other projects

Operational Management

  • Ability to quickly identify project dependencies and critical path.
  • Able to develop and deliver high quality documentation in support of the project (eg status reports, proposals, presentations).
  • Ensure resource capabilities are up to the needs of the project and take any corrective action.
  • Adopt a proactive approach to minimise change to the overall plan and minimise issues.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and create an environment where they can be successful and maximise their potential.
  • Work effectively to establish strong working relationships with key business stakeholders. In particular, create an environment where there can be both formal and informal communication.
  • Ensure timely escalation of unresolved issues and early warning on key risks.
  • Execute Agile transformation program with different business and development teams.
  • Train & Coach experts on Agile methodology across various service areas in the organization.
  • Serve as Scrum Master for various Business and Technical projects.

Vendor Management

  • Capable of managing multi-vendor projects.
  • Manages project budget and ensures payment release on key payment milestones based on delivery.
  • Actively monitors vendor performance, ensuring that their delivery is on time and to a high quality standard. Where this is not the case, take any necessary actions.
