Role: Contract - Control Function Manager

Location: London

Rate: £550

Length: 6 months

My client is a leading Tier 1 bank. They are looking for an experienced Controls Manager to sit within the Commercial Banking Group. This position, Control Function Manager is a key interface into the CB Markets business and provides support to the desk heads and their teams to ensure the risk & control framework for CB Markets is effective.

Key Accountabilities.

Support delivery of the Control aspects of the MiFID II implementation programme.

This will include but will not be limited to:

Approved Product database (APD) post-trade monitoring, including exception escalation and resolution

Newly designed and implemented MiFID II controls monitoring, including exception escalation and resolution, including pricing controls and exceptions reporting

Coordination of Trade Reconstruction and definition of relevant requirements

Trade Surveillance remediation and advancement (to include Algo trade Surveillance)

UAT of automated solution for CBCF Markets

Voice and e-Communication Surveillance enhancement remediation work

Provide specialist business support to CB Markets relating to business process controls (both effectiveness and risk appetite).

Where appropriate, educate on control best practice..

Develop and stretch yourself and the team, build the talent pipeline and expand organisational capacity..

Key Skills & Knowledge

Strong understanding of CB markets products (FX, Rates, MM, Credit, Loans, Bonds).
Experience and knowledge of front-back risks and controls.
Qualified accountant or professional with prior experience in Front Office business management/Internal audit specialising in Markets or experience in Middle Office roles.
Experience of interacting with a number of stakeholders and the ability to influence and successfully challenge management to achieve an effective control framework.
Conscientiousness and ability to process significant volumes of information and translate them into actions which they subsequently deliver.
Evidenced written and verbal communication skills..
Demonstrable ability to partner across different teams and influence and align colleagues and stakeholders.
