My client, babsed out of Richmond is looking for a Service Owner/Service Delivery Manager to join their team. This will sit within the Information Technology & Digital Services (ITD) services team.

ITD Services operates across multiple sites, providing online, telephone and campus based support and ensures that IT services operate at optimum levels. In addition it conducts an annual program of strategic projects designed to enhance, replace or introduce new ITD services to promote innovation and support the organisations strategic direction.

IT Operations - The heartbeat of IT' - This portfolio is responsible for maintaining a regular, consistent, efficient and reliable heart beat' for all IT production services to ensure they seamlessly enable the university's core business of learning, teaching and research.

Role Responsibilities:

  • The Service Owner promotes a consistent and rigorous approach to managing and continuously improving IT services across the organisation.
  • The role acts as liaison point between the ITD run' functions and business service owners, actively managing customer expectations and ensuring that services under their control remain valid and viable.
  • The Service Owner is the primary stakeholder in all underlying IT processes which enable or support the services they own and are responsible for the management and continual improvement of change affecting these services.
  • This role also has a common purpose shared amongst positions at this level, to demonstrate personal leadership in their area of expertise and promote delivery on the IT Strategy in the context of the IT Service Charter.

Key Skills and Experience Required:

  • Tertiary (preferably post graduate) qualifications or progress towards post graduate qualifications and/or extensive relevant experience in IT, with a focus on service provision preferably in the context of a recognised framework such as ITIL, with practitioner accreditation.
  • Demonstrated experience working within information technology services in a large, complex organisation acting as service owner for a suite of IT services.
  • An interest in Web and Mobile applications is highly desirable. This is not a technical role but a background in an IT role or similar and a keen ability to understand how things work is required.
  • High level interpersonal, communication (oral, written, listening and presentation), teamwork and customer service skills and a demonstrated record of willingness to develop and implement customerfocused solutions. The successful candidate will be a good collaborator with demonstrable experience in negotiating outcomes with senior colleagues and other teams where the outcome impacts areas outside own area of control.
  • Extensive professional experience and knowledge working within a service management framework (eg ITIL) and relevant processes and practice.
  • Sound business analysis and customer consultation skills
  • A sound theoretical/conceptual understanding of how a wide range of IT systems and applications work, with strong technical specialization and product/service awareness in the relevant service portfolio area.
  • An understanding of IT project management principles and methodologies (for example PRINCE2).
  • Demonstrated record of willingness to keep up to date on developments in the IT sector and maintain learning agility
