Commercial Procurement Lead - Supplier Management - Private Sector

A major retailer in central Manchester are looking add an experienced Commercial Procurement Manager to their programme team as they work to implement the upcoming GDPR legislation.

They are looking for a self-managing, autonomous Commercial Procurement specialist to join them on an initial 6 month contract to work with their various business units to identify, understand and define a clear strategy and roadmap to ensure essential changes are fully delivered across their various workstreams.

Working with appointed Business Partners and stakeholders, the successful candidate will have a proven background in Commercials and Procurement, have successfully delivered commercial changes within a large scale organisation and have reported to Board level.

Key deliverables:

  • To represent Procurement in the GDPR programme, supporting the Programme Manager in developing a robust Change strategy and plan within regulated timescales
  • Build relationships with key stakeholder and GDPR representatives across the business units and ensure symbiotic relationship across each function
  • Use 3rd party documentation to provide further supplier analysis regarding Data Protection, Processing and Governance
  • Work with the Data Protection Officer to define, design and implement a risk-based procurement framework for benchmarking current suppliers and on-boarding new suppliers
  • Negotiate with suppliers to reach best possible level of compliance against agreed framework, through both contractual, commercial and operational changes.
