Description
Our client in Edinburgh require an experienced Operations Analyst to join their team on a 6-month contract starting ASAP.
You will be responsible for monitoring and assessing internal controls for internal operations as well as offshore centres. You will ensure the appropriate design and execution of controls across both Fund Accounting and Middle Office products for a number of clients.
Main Duties will include:
- Manage and update internal incident database and produce relevant analysis and MI for both internal and external reporting forums
- Review client error and incident reports in advance of issue to client, ensure reports are comprehensive and identify all required remediation to ensure no repeat of event
- Agree corrective actions; assign accountability, testing and tracking actions to closure
- Ensure appropriate discipline and rigor is applied to the execution of operational controls through controls testing. Ensure required remediation is carried out in a comprehensive and timely manner
- Design and implement suitable controls governance and oversight process across the distributed delivery model, in partnership with operations, ensuring consistency of standards across the teams
- Coordination of engagements with Compliance, Internal Audit, External Client/Auditors and Regulators
- Assess operational change, adequacy of controls and design appropriate sustainable controls to close gaps
The successful candidate will come from an operational background in Fund Accounting or Middle Office, with the following skills and experience:
- Experience in client interaction in a service based role
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Must have strong negotiation, influencing and leadership skills
- In-depth understanding of operational risk management
- Experience in representing the Controls agenda including Risk Committees, Metrics Reviews, Business Control Committees and Service Reviews
- Strong Fund Accounting and or Middle Office operational experience
- Understanding of operational risk and controls with a working knowledge of relevant industry practices
