Description
Sopra Steria Recruitment is working in partnership with a major public sector client in the UK. We are currently recruiting a Financial Accountant for an initially 9 month contract based in Basingstoke.
Responsibilities:
- Qualified Professional Account (CCAB or equivalent).
- Review and improve annual accounts production timetable and processes, to significantly shorten the time taken to produce the accounts.
- Support the day to day management of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Documentation of key policies/processes across financial reporting and financial transactions.
- Identifying and Implementing improvements to key financial processes.
- Maintenance of Chart of accounts, review of ledger for transactional errors and production of month end financial management information.
Essential experience:
- Experience in working in AP/AR environment.
- Experience of detailing and changing finance processes.
- Wider experience of managing teams in finance.
- Experience of IR 35 implementation.
- Experience of managing VAT and Corporation Tax within an organisation.
