IT Solution Architect - Bank
IT Solution Architect required for a project with a leading Bank in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Overall description:
1) Project delivery:
Changes of current processes and applications within the banks pension area and another business area. The goal is to close gaps against KYC standards. That includes adjusting existing processes and applications as well as integration between applications. KYC standards are the banks interpretation of the legislation and common business requirements.
2) What consultant will do:
Lead the solution architecture work to produce solution descriptions (SAD) and assure IT strategy alignment. Work with local application architects to design IT solutions that meet requirements. Assure necessary IT approvals according to the bank's IT governance process. Lead workshops related to architecture design and document result. Assist in capturing mon functional requirements.
3) Technology and methods:
This work will impact several IT applications in different environments and technologies. Primarily Mainframe and Microsoft. Exactly what technologies will be included is still not known. Depends on which applications will be impacted. We are looking for a senior architect that can lead design work over various technologies with assistance of local application architects. We work agile and apply Scrum, but in a traditional waterfall project governance.
4) Background and experience:
This person need to be selfdriven. Some years working in a similar role addressing business needs that span over different applications and technologies. Similar assignment in banking industry so the person have basic understanding of banking applications, specifically in customer on-boarding and CRM space. Knowledge of AML directive and KYC requirements are a strong advantage since it will take time to dig onto and grasp the legislation which you need to have basic understanding of.
5) Personal characteristics:
Strong in leadership, communication and stakeholder management. Self-driven. Pragmatic, solution oriented. Honest, talk straight. Keep commitments.
6) Team size:
The team that drives this work is a small core team of around 5 people. However many stakeholders in different countries will be involved. The assignment includes regular travels to the four Nordic countries mainly to meet with local architects and development teams.
7) Banking experience:
Banking experience is a strong demand. You will need that to understand the application landscape and business context. However, a really senior architect with right attitude and with strong experience from leading this kind of cross application architecture work may be able to pick this up fast to become productive within a limited period of time. A person would be considered even without banking experience if the person can show extensive experience in this profession with similar assignments.
The role is to assist business projects to find solutions to business needs by developing existing application portfolio. Assist lead architect to drive architecture decisions, prepare documentations and assist development teams.
This role will be the link between business projects to understand the business needs, enterprise architects that govern the large picture and local solution architects/designers. Hence communication and interpersonal skills are of high importance. Also experience from working in AML and KYC context.
The person need to have a similar role in larger bank and preferably worked with KYC solutions.
It's important that the consultant have experience from bank and have can understand requirements and design solution. It's also important that the person can drive the decision process to get the solution approved. The consultant should be senior and help other solutions architect. Experience of Hadoop is an advantage.
English is the only language required for this role.
