Costbase Accountant - Defence
A Costbase Accountant is required to work on a fifteen month contract, with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Blackburn.
This is a 15 month contract with a leading UK Defence business.
Overview of the Costbase Accountant contract role
The role will sit with the DI Central Finance Team consisting of Costbase and Governance and will report directly to the Finance Manager and will provide the candidate a good understanding of process and controls and how they impact the different systems within the DI business.
Knowledge, appreciation and application of the Operational Framework will also be developed in particular the Finance Policy Manual and Financial Control Framework.
Role will be based at Samlesbury, with limited travelling to the UK sites.
Key skills required for the Costbase Accountant
- Ideally a Qualified or part qualified Accountant but will take into account experience from other functions such as (QBE)
- Can work and influence at varying levels of management
- IT skills - good knowledge of excel & SAP, basic knowledge of word & Powerpoint;
- Leadership - Will need to work with and provide guidance to Senior Managers within the business.
- Problem Solving - Will need to plan activities and deliver to tight timescales, whilst using different systems to get the information for the whole of DI until the business transitions on to one Finance System.
- Interpersonal Skills - Building effective relationships to provide and receive the information that is required.
The role is based in Lancashire - commutable from Blackpool, Lancaster, Morecambe, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Skipton, Stockport, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham with excellent access from Liverpool and Leeds
