Senior Engineer BOM - Shipbuilding

A Senior Engineer BOM with Shipbuilding experience is required to work on a six-month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Scotstoun.

This is a 6-month contract working for a leading UK defence company.

Overview of the Senior Engineer BOM contract role

The purpose of this role is to provide technical oversight of all automated data exchanges related to of Bill of Materials. This will include status reporting, issue resolution and continuous quality improvement. The Type 26 material budget measures in the billions of pounds, successful management of the Bill of Materials data is essential and this role will be directly responsible for ensuring data transfer processes are fit for purpose and followed by all stakeholders.

Key skills required for the Senior Engineer BOM - Shipbuilding

  • Typically Degree qualified, likely to be in a technology, engineering or science related discipline
  • 5 years' experience of managing engineering data using CAD/PDM/ERP systems
  • Experienced in Life Cycle Management reviews of bids and programmes.

The role is based at Scotstoun in Glasgow - Commutable from Kilmarnock, Paisley, Greenock, Stirling and Falkirk with excellent access from Edinburgh.
