Schools Finance Officer
ERG are looking to recruit a Schools Finance Officer to work in a Local Authority based in South Gloucestershire. The role is offering a generous pay rate and is on a 3-month rolling contractual basis.
The post is urgent and they are looking to recruit ASAP. Candidates must have schools or public-sector accounting experience.
Essential
Qualified Accounting Technician or part qualified accountant or equivalent experience working in an accounting environment.
Experience in budget setting and monitoring.
Experience in using computerised accounting systems together with excellent Microsoft Excel/Word skills.
Excellent communication and inter personal skills.
Ability to communicate financial matters effectively with non-financial people and present financial management information in an understandable manner.
Ability to work as part of a team and develop effective working relationships with other colleagues within the Division and Authority as well as with external contacts.
Self-motivated with the ability to work without direct supervision in a pressurised environment to deliver a good quality service.
Well organised with good planning and scheduling skills and attention to detail.
Candidates must hold a current driving licence and have the use of their own vehicle to carry out duties.
Desirable
Experience in using Mainframe computer systems (eg general ledger and payroll).
Previous Local Authority experience.
Schools background or knowledge of schools finance.
Experience in providing training courses.
