Duration: 12months +

Rate: $60/Hr.

SUMMARY:

The Senior IT Business Analyst is an experienced member of the Application Development Group in IT who demonstrates depth and breadth of business analysis process, techniques and methodologies. The Senior IT Business Analyst contributes to application design by defining needs and recommending solutions that will maximize the value delivered by the system to stakeholders. Determines how the project they are assigned to impacts other projects or business areas. Ensures their project meets the strategic goals/initiatives of the organization. The Senior IT Business Analyst is expected to influence, persuade, and lead other team members and stakeholders to achieve project goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research, design, create, document, implement, maintain and support systems that support customer and internal user needs
  • Leads and facilitates interviews and cross-functional working sessions to elicit requirements with the Product Owner, Functional BA and other business stakeholders to elicit and clearly define requirements
  • Convert business requirements into functional and software/technical requirements
  • Capture non-functional and other system requirements (eg, supported browsers, security, system performance expectations, etc.)
  • Produce deliverables as needed: (eg, software requirements documents, use cases, use case diagrams, wireframes, workflow diagrams, process diagrams, and detailed user stories)
  • Provide significant input to system specifications and design
  • Develop detailed knowledge/expertise in applications assigned. Will analyze system integration impacts and define integration requirements
  • Collaborate with developers to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
  • Attend demos and review completed sprint development for accuracy
  • Review detailed requirements with project manager/technical lead to ensure adherence to scope and level of effort estimations
  • Estimates requirements gathering level of effort, develops business analysis work plans, and ensures BA deliverables quality and timeliness
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance (QA) and the development team to ensure requirements are understood;
  • Participate and/or coordinate required testing/validation of system fixes, which may include creating the actual test cases or reviewing test cases created by QA
  • Support User Acceptance Testing
  • Is the key IT counterpart to the Product Owner or Functional BA jointly responsible for understanding, prioritizing, & defining continuous improvement requests
  • Perform problem determination and resolution as part of system production support
  • Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner; escalate and retain ownership of all open/unresolved issues
  • Develop partnerships with stakeholders. Be an advocate and trusted advisor for stakeholder groups he or she supports

Required Experience:

  • Experience with standards, tools and techniques used by Business Analyst to define the business need, analyze, detail and communicate quality requirements, verify and validate that the requirements are complete and the solution solves the business need. Candidates should have experience in the following and be prepared to discuss scenarios and/or show examples of their work.
