Global Future Talent (GFT) Manager - International

Position Overview

My client, a global Powerhouse within the Engineering industry, is looking for a Global Future Talent Manager to join their team in Hammersmith on an initial 6 month contract with the potential to extend.

As part of the Talent Acquisition function (TA), this position has both strategic leadership and managerial responsibilities. Strategic leadership responsibilities include: (1) staying abreast of Graduate, Intern and Apprentice trends in the aligned division or geography, (2) partnering with HR Delivery and the business to understand demand planning requirements and build effective GFT hiring strategies, (3) adding value by enabling, advising and influencing the implementation of both college and apprentice staffing solutions that fulfil the needs of the business units.

Managerial responsibilities include managing GFT recruiting functions reporting across the division/geography; providing leadership and support to divisional/geographic GFT Recruiters and/or Coordinators; being held accountable for effective and consistent implementation of recruiting process and ensuring division/geography recruiting metrics are being met and tracked through the effective use of technology.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The GFT Recruitment Manager will manage the full range of GFT recruitment services for the division(s)/geography(ies), providing a professional recruitment service for multiple sites as part of the overall TA function
  • Liaise and collaborate closely with the wider GFT team globally to ensure alignment of purpose, communications, reporting, branding, budgeting etc. Aim for consistency in programs, strategies, approaches where possible
  • Liaise with business and HR Partners to understand annual demand plans for GFT hiring
  • Develop strategies for efficient and effective GFT recruiting within the Division/Geography
  • Provide end to end recruitment support, actively recruiting during the campus and apprentice hiring cycle.
  • Manage and lead the GFT Recruitment Team for aligned region, (likely to consist of temporary or remote resources during recruitment cycle).
  • Develop GFT recruitment budget for approval and manage work within agreed budget for program delivery, event management, travel commitments etc.
  • Identify and forge effective relationships with a group of strategic universities and other external bodies for GFT hiring
  • Co-ordinate and drive business participation for GFT hiring activity, managing logistics of campus events and other attraction activities
  • Design and lead best practice selection initiatives, including assessment centres as required, ensuring compliance with legislation and providing manager briefings as needed
  • Ensure req activity is fully tracked in ATS to allow for accurate reporting. Provide additional reporting and market information as required
  • Act as subject matter expert on GFT activity to the business, TA team and wider OneHR team. Provide SME support and guidance on GFT recruitment for other countries within aligned geography, working closely with the global TA teams. Responsibilities would cover strategy, program development and guidance on delivery with other deliverables to be determined depending on business demand and available resource
  • Review the way in which GFT recruitment takes place constantly looking to improve the quality of candidates, the process and to seek new effective sourcing channels and selection methods
  • Additional ad hoc duties as required

Working Conditions

  • Some travel required, particularly during campus hiring cycle
  • May be required to undertake some work outside of normal working hours

Experience & Qualifications

  • In depth experience of direct sourced GFT recruitment gained in house with a large multi national organisation
  • Track record of leading and managing successful GFT campaign recruitment within engineering or closely related sector
  • Campaign recruitment project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent presentation and stakeholder management skills at executive level
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Experience in identifying and engaging with strategic universities and colleges
  • Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
  • Strong delivery focus with ability to take full responsibility for campaign recruitment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and perform effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and stakeholders simultaneously in high pressure environment
  • Extensive experience in GFT candidate attraction methods including social media
  • Strong analytical skills, data analysis and reporting
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Some schedule flexibility to accommodate liaison with the US or other international locations outside of standard local work schedule may be required at times
  • People management experience, including management of remote and dotted line reports
  • Knowledge and understanding of recruitment best practices, employment law and legislation in countries of operation
  • Recognised assessment accreditation preferred
  • International experience preferred
