Description

* Contract - Senior Manager - Consumer and SME Representatives - London - £800.*

This role is a six month contract for a dynamic banking client, based in London. The key function of this role is to provide independent, intellectual and administrative support to the Consumer and SME representatives and ensure that there is a continual, authoritative SME/consumer representative

  • The role will review, analyse and develop policies and practical responses around key consumer issues.
  • The role will involve working with the CMA9 and stakeholder representatives, as well as HM Treasury, the FCA, the PSR and the ICO to ensure positions secure sufficient stakeholder buy-in and are influential.
  • The role requires regulatory and policy expertise and a willingness to explore the potential of technology to secure good outcomes for consumers.
  • The individual must be able to assess the views of technical experts and analyse the policy implications through a number of lenses including regulatory, commercial and technological as well as consumer

Key responsibilities:

  • Review and deliver written consumer positions on the range of policy issues under debate, drawing on the input from external consumer advocates and interactions with the FCA, ICO.
  • Examples include:
    • Design of pass-through
    • Design of refund and consent revocation processes/APIs
    • Multi-party regulatory requirements and authorisation
    • Delivery of open data for Legacy products (back books)
    • Development of data minimisation
    • Liability and consumer protection model (ADR)
    • Implementation of Service Level Indicators
    • Extent of the Roadmap to PSD2 and beyond (eg pensions dashboard)

Required skills, capabilities and experience

Consumer experience

Essential

Practical experience working in policy units within financial services and payments sector, with a European perspective.

Working knowledge of PSD2 and RTS

Good quality report writing & document production
