Category Range Planner/Excel/6 months/W. Midlands/Contract/Competitive Daily Rate
Purpose:
In this role you be responsible for the provision of the enablement of the company to create a bespoke local range element for each of the client's branched to service the needs of their national contract and local customers, in addition to their national core range; whilst working closely with internal stakeholders. This will all be in aid of maximising the performance of the client's retail and/or service range within their branch network.
Responsibilities:
* In addition to the national Core range, you will create the initial local range based on individual branch sales data to incorporate local contract demand and customer preference.
* You will monitor the demand and financial returns and manage any changes required for an initial 3-month period.
* Maximise the performance of the Category via assistance with the development and implementation of branch merchandising plans.
* To ensure ranges take into account differences in the regional infrastructure and technical equipment; as well as to make sure that ranges are adapted to reflect the needs and requirements of regional customers.
* Working with Category teams to ensure that plans take into account all relevant and up-to-date information regarding current product ranges. This will require an understanding of key product data (such as weight/size/dimensions/packaging). In addition to this, you will work with key internal stakeholders to achieve the maximisation of sales.
Key Requirements:
* Working knowledge of range management, appreciation of inventory, merchandising and branch operations
* Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot tables, Vlook up, Filters)
* Financial acumen and commercial awareness - effective numeracy skills in order to be able to deliver maximum margins
* Effective communication skills
* Financial modelling and range modelling experience would be desirable
