Pay-rate: £800 per day

Duration of contract: 4 months (with possible extension)

IR35 status: Outside IR35

Experience Required

At least 10 years' experience in the Client Director role. Must be able to demonstrate capability and track-record in building and orchestrating complex multi-level relationship (including C-level) and identifying/shaping/closing material commercial opportunities and mobilising pursuit and delivery teams. Good grounding in large scale portfolio estates strategy and operations, ideally with some Central Government track record. Experience in solutions and transformation work ie where estates are the enabler for wider business change Capability The fundamental requirements of this post are to influence the client agenda and deliver results through others. This is a significant challenge requiring: Excellent consulting and negotiating skills - in order to assure clients that the Agency will deliver a high quality service(s) that are commercially competitive and value for money Personal credibility in terms of knowledge and experience of the property discipline and its operation in both the public and private sector - in order to convince stakeholders to agree to proposals and plans Significant influence across a variety of stakeholders - in order to convince Sponsors and Board members that the ambitions are achievable and legal, financial and reputational risks can be mitigated Deep understanding of how the Government Property Agency enables step-change outcomes in commercial, operational and people domains knowledge and understanding of the world of Property and Estates Management and Services and Solutions provision Experience in both public and private sectors and of delivering commercial opportunities Broad-based experience in projects, programmes, solutions, strategy and advisory work First degree essential and property professional qualifications preferred.

Key tasks and deliverables

GPA - Client Director Overview: To realise greater value from client's substantial investment in land and property the 2015 Budget announced that the Government would implement a new commercially-driven approach to asset management across the client's estate The initiative has been jointly sponsored client's and the new client's will launch this summer. When fully operational, the Agency will manage £1bn+ of assets, £2bn+ in operating costs and an annual CDEL budget in the high £10m's. The Client Director role exists to lead relationship building and opportunity discovery and development with one or more Central Government Departments and/or ALBs. Over time, the intention is that client organisations will choose GPA as their preferred source of estates services, solutions and strategic advice. The role will typically involve the development of an expanding portfolio of services and programmes involving annual spend in the £10m's and above. Reporting to the Client Solutions Director this post is required to: Establish and develop strong relationships with the senior teams in client Departments and ALBs, building understanding of their respective business models and leading conversations to uncover and progress opportunities for commercial and operational breakthroughs. Build a pipeline of services, solutions and transformation work to fulfil the client's business development plan and fulfil role-specific and client-specific financial targets. Create and lead virtual teams to progress specific opportunities from idea through to contractual commitment - working with solutions specialists across Client Solutions, Commercial, Programmes, Operations, Finance Directorates and delivery partners as appropriate. Contribute to the development of the client's propositions and market/commercial insight. Observe the GPA's sales and commercial practices and control mechanisms at all times. Expect and foster exceptionally high standards and performance from all teams (both in- house and out-sourced) in both the quality of the ideas
