Job Purpose:

As a senior member of the Hr leadership team:

  • Partner with relevant business Director(s) to lead on delivery
  • To advise and lead on functional specific change programmes
  • To support and give tactical advice to the business on a range of "Business As Usual" HR activities, including complex Employee Relations issues, Talent, Risk and Succession planning, Recruitment and Selection strategy and change management.
  • Provide advice and guidance as appropriate to the team on HR Policies, Procedures and Processes.
  • Lead on key corporate and local HR projects and initiatives and take assigned responsibility for specific deliverables.
  • Promote and support HR Best Practice across the business leadership teams. Ensure that the business leaders understand and comply with relevant current and pending employment legislation and Company policies and procedures.

  • Specialist knowledge is utilised to deliver HR processes and support, adding value to business partners, operations and business profitability.
  • Communication channels are maintained with the business, adjusting the interaction style to suit the needs of the customer.
  • Constructive behaviors are role modeled within the business in support of the desired culture of a can do, service organisation
  • Appropriate levels of coaching and support are provided to Senior Leaders and Managers to resolve complex employee relations issues in line with Company policies, procedures and practice
  • Ensure all Employee Relations issues are conducted in accordance with Company, Regulated/compliance policy and employment legislation, eg Disciplinary, Grievance, Absence Management etc.
  • Recruitment strategies are developed, supported and applied to enable optimum business performance and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure that internal processes are progressed in line with Company standards and timescales (ie authorization of HR Requests etc)
  • Delivery of any corporate and customer function(s) HR project and change activities to agreed timescales and business requirements.
  • Working in partnership with the client function(s) Director and senior leadership teams to ensure that the relevant Talent management and Risk planning is in place and documented and that appropriate levels of Success in and Manpower planning documentation is in use.

Technical Competencies:

  • Demonstrated a strong analytical knowledge of all HR policies, procedures and processes (including Collective Agreement) and ability to apply to a business context
  • Demonstrates a sound knowledge of current and Legacy contracts and understands how to interpret the differences within the business area and corporate environment
  • Able to keep up to date with an understand legislation and apply to relevant business solutions
  • Proven track record of leading and managing Organisational Change particularly as it related to downsizing and redundancy
  • Proven experience of leading and managing business change in relation to TUPE in and or TUPE out exercises
  • Proven experience of handling complex ER matters, including interpretation of legislation as it applies to the business activity
  • Working knowledge of relevant systems and proven ability to analyse, interpret and present relevant MI

This role requires individuals to demonstrate well developed interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills as part of the functional business area leadership team. The role holder will be able to build effective working relationships with their senior customers and will demonstrate a track record of leading and delivering change often to challenging time scales. The role holder will also be required to develop a good understanding of the financial and commercial impact of the HR tactical decisions they are required to make and seek to maximize cost benefits for the company and clients.
