VBA & Macro Software Developer ( Partime )

On behalf of my client I am seeking an experienced VBA and Macro Software Developer for a long term project in Luxembourg ( 4 years ) The assignment is initially part time on 2 days per week but has potential to eventually rise to 5 days per week,

Candidates should have experience in all or some of the following disciplines.

1) IT Financial Systems

2) IT Security

3) IT Architecture and Infrastructure

4) Managing outsourced service providers and cloud services

5) Application development

6) ERP platforms

7) Microsoft applications.

Objective

The customer is in the process of introducing a large number of new technologies which require extensive testing and change management to introduce these into the operating environment without disrupting the day to day operations of the organisation.

Services Description and Deliverables by the Consultant

In support of the IT Financial Applications team, the Consultant will provide the following services

• Support services

• Support several VBA applications and Macros mainly for the Funding division;

• Perform analysis, testing, documentation, reporting, change management;

• Maintain customer relationships within the Funding division, manage the change process and communication;

• Act as a change agent to help facilitate effective deployments/modifications to new and current practices;

• Identify risks and liaise on issues related to changes;

• Work with subject matter experts to gather business requirements and any other relevant input required.

b) Tasks

• Develop new required features in the VBA applications/macros she/he maintains;

• Follow-up on deliverables with internal and external parties;

• Prepare documents to support internal decision making, testing or training material;

• Develop and execute an internal communications plan with support material;

• Perform testing, change management documentation and otherwise support the deployment of the technology and hand over to production support;

• Ensure all material is stored on SharePoint environment for audit purposes;

• Other division related tasks as applicable such as organizing and running meetings, developing agendas, preparing minutes, following up on open actions, identifying risk and issues with appropriate mitigating actions.

2) Deliverables

• MS Documents including the project VBA code;

• Complete and reliable functional and technical documentation about the implemented functionality;

• Test management

  • Creation and execution of relevant test cases, demonstrating the expected behavior in terms of requirements fulfillment and software quality;

  • Creation and execution of training, support, communications and other change management material as needed to support the change management process.

Desired Consultant Profile

The Consultant will have the following profile:

• Software development experience with VBA and MS Office Macros (Access & Excel);

• Good understanding of a modern IT architecture, desirable experience in Java;

• Customer oriented change management communication skills;

• Project Management skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks under competing deadlines and shifting priorities;

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, or equivalent experience;

• Minimum 8 years of IT experience;

• Minimum 5 years of direct experience with similar and relevant IT projects;

• Excellent communication and presentation skills;

• Experience in providing reporting and other communications at a senior management level;

• Excellent organizational skills;

• Ability to document clear and complete business requirements;

• Excellent written and spoken English.
