Project:
- Re-architecture of the enterprise WAN.
- Approximately 90 sites will have the WAN architecture changed from multiple MPLS circuits and company-owned Routers and Firewalls to a single MPLS, broadband backup, managed Firewall and Router solution.
- The project includes design, new system implementation, and existing system decommission. Financial reconciliation and cleanup is a major component and driver in the project.
- Resources will be external consultants, LEC project team, 3rd party technicians and limited access to internal resources.
- Stakeholders include IT management, remote site management, LEC consulting, and project teams.
Roles/Responsibilities:
Manages the entire project life cycle from project definition through implementation
Accountable for meeting agreed upon scope, cost, schedule, documentation and quality measures
Develops project plan and drives project milestones
Establishes effective communication plan with project team and key stakeholders
Provides day-to-day direction to project internal and external resources
Direct reporting resources will be limited
Ensures effective change management occurs throughout the course of the project
Responsible for preparation of documentation, status reports and budgets
Role requires excellent oral and written communications, interpersonal, negotiation, project planning, judgment, leadership, decision-making, analysis and problem-solving skills
Must be results driven and be willing to get involved
Role requires work with change management process. Specialized knowledge of MS Project, Visio, Excel, Word
Must be able to quickly grasp internal change control and other process requirements
Leadership/Contributions: Leads and directs the work of others
