Commercial Finance Manager - Telecoms
My client who are one of the UK's leading telecommunication companies are looking for a Commercial Finance Manager to join their team on an initial 3 month contract based in Newbury.
Supports the delivery of new Enterprise Business Cases including tariffs, products and propositions by providing insightful financial analysis and strong governance ensuring that decisions are based on a balanced assessment of risk and reward and contribute to revenue and cash targets. The role works with the Product and Sales teams helping to create the Business Cases and requires a candidate who has strong Excel Modelling skills, confident stakeholder management especially when challenging Business Case requests.
Key Accountabilities
Business Cases, Tariffs, products and propositions
- Supporting new tariff, product and propositions with the preparation of detailed business cases, providing insightful financial analysis, and clarity on the risks and rewards of each proposal to enable good decision making
- Manage the financial governance process to ensure all decisions are taken in the appropriate forums, excellent cross functional engagement and senior management are well briefed
- Ensure governance framework and assumptions are appropriately maintained and comply with policies
- Relationship management
- Proactively partnering with key stakeholders (commercial, sales, ebu finance team and product team). Agree delivery expectations on quality and timescales. Challenging and supporting the business on the right commercial outcomes
- Demonstrating a detailed understanding of the business and acting as a trusted finance business partner
- Influencing decisions of the business unit leadership team, and makes key operational and commercial decisions within vf guidelinesT
Technical/Professional Expertise
- Good knowledge of the Enterprise market (ideally in both fixed and mobile)
- Strong analytical skills and good understanding of financial modelling techniques
- Collaborative approach coupled with the ability to challenge to achieve the right results
- Resilient and calm under pressure
- Excellent stakeholder management skills to ensure high levels of engagement
- Keeps the customer at the heart of decisions
- Broad range of Finance roles with evidence of driving strong commercial performance in challenging markets
- Accounting qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) or studying for qualification
