Quality Assurance Engineer

A Quality Assurance Engineer is required to work on a six month contract, with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Cumbria.

This is a 6-month contract with a leading UK defence business.

Overview of the Quality Assurance Engineer contract role

A contract opportunity has arisen for three self-starters who are capable of problem solving and process improvement.

You will have the ability to develop and manage project quality arrangements whilst proactively supporting and advising on all aspects of quality management on projects, including risks and issues.

This is a varied active and fast paced role working within a small team, across all aspects of quality assurance.

Key skills required for the Quality Assurance Engineer

  • Candidates must have 5 years (min) experience within an Aerospace Quality Assurance role; good technical engineering knowledge and ability to read engineering drawings; experience with AS9102 with attention to detail and methodical approach is a must as you will be signing off FAIRs.
  • Candidates must be capable of working unsupervised and in accordance with business processes and have good communication skills to influence both internally and externally are essential along with the need in developing and maintaining excellent relationships with both internal and external Customers.
  • Candidates must be capable of establishing and enforcing configuration control; investigating, recording and driving to conclusion non-conformance(s); performing failure mode effect analysis and root cause analysis.
  • Candidates must have good MS Office and report writing skills, a knowledge of SAP system preferable (not essential - training will be provided); some travel may be required.

The role is based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria - commutable from Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Lancaster, Morecambe, Penrith, Workington, Whitehaven and The Lake District
