Description

Finance reporting manager required by our leading client in Leeds to manage businesses within their Record to Report Function covering Financial Performance and Regulatory & Statutory Reporting, Comprising of c13 professional staff including trainee, newly qualified and up to 5yr post qualified accountants.

  • Support the delivery of monthly financial results (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash flows) for the Care Services business. Results are delivered to the Care Services FD and consolidation in the overall UK MU result delivered to the MU FD & MD.
  • Maintain the financial control environment for the Care Services businesses ensuring compliance with Corporate Centre finance accounting policy.
  • Manage the half year and year end statutory audits for the Care Services businesses with KPMG.
  • Support the delivery of the reporting to the needs of the Care Services Business FD.
  • Management of Care Services business Balance Sheet, Cash flow and Working Capital.
  • Deliver the Care Services Solvency II quarterly and annual reporting in line with the timelines set by GRT and in line with the regulatory requirements of the European Insurance Occupational Pensions Authority and the Prudential Regulatory Authority.
  • Manage the provision of Management Information for the Care Services Business.
  • Ensure adherence to tight reporting timescales
  • Control of the capitalisation and depreciation of the Care Services businesses fixed assets
  • Review all Care Services business reporting provided to Care Services the MU and Corporate Central Finance.
  • Create transparency and insight into the Care Services Balance Sheet and Cash flow particularly the management of working capital.
  • Establish, maintain and communicate financial and regulatory reporting policies and procedures.
  • Consolidation and reconciliation of the Care Services businesses monthly results. Ensuring reconciliation of Cognos (Group System) with the monthly management accounts.
  • Lead the Care Services Business reconciliation (Cognos) reporting for Forecasts & Plans.
  • Deliver Reporting to the needs of the FD & Finance Business Partners of each of the segments/companies that make up the Care Services business.
  • Review of VAT Returns prior to submission to Group Tax at regular intervals throughout the year.
  • Manage the balance sheet of the Care Services business.
  • Review and comment on all balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis identifying and managing all risks and opportunities
  • Review and recommend actions regarding aged debt
  • Control capitalisation and depreciation of fixed assets and IS work in progress.
  • Accountable for the Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and Working Capital for the Care Services business

Qualifications, Training & Experience

  • Qualified Accountant (FCCA,FCA,CIMA or equivalent) at least 5 years PQE
  • Previous statutory accounts reporting responsibility
  • Good commercial acumen coupled with strong technical finance skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of a Provision Based Business
  • Skilled leader, mentor and trainer
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience of developing robust, efficient financial processes and controls
  • Analytical and numerate
  • Broad financial and statistical knowledge and experience.
  • Good systems knowledge
