Our client is a leading telecommunications business based in Bristol, and are currently recruiting for a Finance Business Partner to work on a high profile programme they are currently delivering.
The role holder will work directly with the business to understand and optimise the cost drivers for the programme and will provide financial support; challenging the cost structure of the function, managing risks and opportunities and therefore delivering against the financial targets for the programme.
Responsibilities
- Develop a business partner relationship with the Director, Programme Leads and Project Management community
- Drive understanding of relevant cost drivers.
- Work closely with Project managers, striking the balance of business support and financial rigour.
- Responsible for monthly financial reporting accuracy and clear explanation of variances to forecast for the area, including future outlook. Owns and drives savings initiatives across the spend area
- Deliver sustainable project reporting by key cost driver for forecasting and reporting
- Budget and forecast management of plans to meet business requirements.
- Establish a financial governance framework for the programme to control spend and reduce wastage while improving the administration to reduce the bottlenecks
- Accountable for procurement governance processes prior to PO issue
- Support Head of Finance on adhoc tasks where necessary
Skills and Experience
- Qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- Good attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Proactive nature to seek out information and drive value
- Awareness of industry and key financial drivers.
- Advanced Excel/PowerPoint
- Excellent Management Reporting Skills
- Operates well in a team but can be trusted to work autonomously to deliver excellent work
- Clear demonstration of people skills to manage a wide group of stakeholders to deliver the objectives under difficult circumstances
