Financial Consultant

Description:
This position is in our central financial reporting area, requires solid current GAAP knowledge with an active CPA highly preferred, and is responsible for working on the preparation of monthly financial statements and analyses, assisting in the general ledger close; performing reconciliations and preparing reports and schedules; and assisting with combined financial statements. (LOA Coverage)
Top Responsibilities:

  • Prepare internal monthly financial statements and analyses.

  • Participate in the quarterly accounting close processes and in the preparation of combined financial statements and footnotes for external distribution.

  • Perform various monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations.

  • Update schedules or reports, create additional ones as needed, distribute to users, track their return and copy and distribute to appropriate staff.

  • Produce monthly consolidated property, plant and equipment; lease and commitments expenditure schedules.

  • Reconcile Quarterly Actuarial Targets to regional ledger balances.

  • Work with Treasury and other regional and shared services staff throughout the organization.

  • Assist in performing quality control checks on internal documents and reports and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience preparing or auditing complex accounting documents for a parent and multiple subsidiaries including income statements, balance sheets, cash flows, supporting schedules, journal entries, and account reconciliations required.

  • BA/BS-4 year degree in related field required.

  • Active CPA highly preferred. We would potentially consider an outstanding candidate who had strong relevant work experience, or possibly a CMA or Chartered Accountant certification.

  • Excellent spreadsheet and word processing skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and problem solving skills.

  • Strong current knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and accounting procedures.

  • Aptitude for numbers, accurate, able to meet tight deadlines, strong attention to detail and well organized.
