EMC Engineer
Job Description
This is a position required to fulfil an EMC Engineer role for our defence client based in Portsmouth, the successful candidate will be working in their qualification team.
Responsibilities
*Provision of technical design advice to the project to ensure an EMC compliant solution
*Act as interface between the subcontracted test facility and the project to provide technical oversight/management
*Review of subcontract output and compilation of compliance evidence against requirement set
*Effective communication of compliance evidence to wider project and MoD customer
The Individual
The EMC Engineer should be able to demonstrate a combination of the following skills and experience:
* Good experience of working with EMC compliance and testing for naval applications
* Solid analytical skills, ideally within product design & development
* Experience with modelling/simulation tools would be desirable
* Working knowledge of CE marking compliance
* Familiarity with naval EMC requirements to Def Stan 59-411 (and/or Mil-Std-461 as applicable) and test methods
* Conduct/supervise/witness lab based and off-site tests and specialist measurements
* Skills in EMC measurement and investigation including EMC systems analysis
* The production of EMC evidence documentation
* Knowledge, technical thinking and analytical skills necessary to contribute to the preparation of Technical Reports
* Ability to work with other engineers at all technical levels so good team skills are essential
* An ability to communicate and advise the wider development team on EMC engineering
* Ideally Degree qualified and Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status
