Description

We are looking for one "PeopleSoft Technical Consultant FIN/HCM" to start ASAP a contract in ROME (on-site). Our client is a world-famous international Organisation and a great reference in any CV!

Initial 10 weeks contract, extensions likely. The consultant may be required to work 1 weekend for the project go-live.

The objective of the project is to upgrade to the latest compatible version PT8.56 of the PeopleTools both for HR and FIN for the all of the environments (DEV, UAT, SBX, SUP, TRN, DMO and Production). The hosting of the Oracle environment is with an external organization (United National International Computing Centre (UNICC). The technical upgrade of PeopleTools will be carried out by UNICC.

Duties and responsibilities

Under the supervision of the ICT Solutions Coordinator, ICT, and the project manager, the consultant will be responsible for the overall success of the project and specifically the following deliverables:

  • 1. Test and Assist the Upgrade People Tools
  • The testing and the fixes of the technical/functional changes on the Applications due to the upgrade are an CLIENT responsibility. To this end, the incumbent consultant will:

    • work in close co-ordination with the UNICC team who will perform the technical upgrade, progressively through each non-Production environment until ready for the move to Production
    • research and employ all resources available from Oracle or other sources, for the identification and resolution of potential issues associated with the upgrade
    • thoroughly system test each upgraded environment, both in HR and FIN, to ensure that no functionality is negatively impacted, including all integrations
    • support users, with test scripts, to carry out unit tests where necessary
    • Rewrite existing Crystal Reports used by CLIENT (delivered and custom) due to retirement of Crystal as a reporting technology for PeopleTools in BI Publisher
    • resolve all technical issues that impact performance or functionality as a result of or related to the technical upgrade
    • immediately escalate any issues or potential delays to the project to the project manager
    • issues or complexity with custom modules functionality should also immediately be escalated to the project manager for discussion and eventual decision by the team on how to proceed
    • produce technical documentation to highlight the new technical features and enhancements introduced by the upgrade
    • produce the functional documentation to highlight the new functional security features introduced by the upgrade
    • deliver a formal handover to the CLIENT technical resources on the new features (including the security enhancements) introduced by the upgrade
    • support the CLIENT Change Management team to identify any required changes to user guides and online help resources (UI or function impacts)
  • 2. Support and bug fixing
  • Post go-live the resource will assist the existing PeopleSoft support team, including the following tasks:

    • provide technical support to CLIENT'S ERP systems including issue resolution, data-fixing, bugs fixing, application changes
    • resolve system configuration and performance problems

    Technical Requirements, Experience

    • At least 5 years of proven professional experience as a PeopleSoft technical expert
    • Proven experience on at least one recent (last 3 years) PeopleTools upgrade project, with preference for version 8.56.
    • Proven experience with the latest PeopleTools version (8.56), in particular with the new technical enhancements introduced
    • Strong experience with People Code, including application packages
    • Strong experience with PeopleSoft Integration Tools including integration broker implementing web services (including integrations external to PeopleSoft), component interfaces, File Layouts etc
    • Strong experience with PeopleSoft reporting tools including Crystal, SQR, Query, BI Publisher and Nvision
    • Experience with Cobol, specifically with regards to the Payroll process
    • Strong Experience with SQL on Oracle database
    • Significant experience in performing PeopleTools upgrade to 8.5X
    • Experience of providing PeopleSoft technical knowledge transfer ( eg. How to documents, Trouble shooting guides etc)
    • Experience of providing user technical support

    Furthermore, the incumbent should have some functional knowledge of the modules used by CLIENT in both HCM and Financials, as this will be important for their ability to unit test.

    PeopleSoft (HCM and FIN) is a fundamental component of the CLIENT Application infrastructure and the current version (People Tools and PeopleSoft Application 9.1). Currently, CLIENT is running the following modules in HCM and Financials:

    • Account Payable

    • Contracts

    Additionally CLIENT run the following custom built PeopleSoft applications

    • Privilege and Immunities (HCM)
    • eRCS (HCM)
    • eRPA (HCM)
    • MFDR (Financials)
