IT/SAP Supply Chain Project Manager
Location: Barcelona, Spain

Durations: End of 2018 + extension

IT project manager/delivery lead role responsible for managing manufacturing and supply chain projects involving the use, development and implementation of information systems and technology to meet identified business needs. The ideal candidate needs to have a strong project planning and implementation background and show proficiency managing a group of IT professionals and all ranges of business stakeholders.

The candidate needs to have a high degree of initiative to work independently and get things done in a Matrix organization.

The ideal candidate must have strong IT project implementation experience supply chain and manufacturing functions.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Takes responsibility for the definition, documentation and execution of multiple medium sized projects actively leading all phases of the project.
  • Ensure that all activities comply with relevant Operating model procedures, including Service Management, Project Lifecycle Methodology (PLM) and Global Control Standards.
  • Owns overall responsibility for Project Delivery that is On-Schedule, within Budget and delivers an outcome that is outlined in the approved Scope. Effectively estimates and manages costs, timescales, risks and issues and resource requirements.
  • Responsible to communicate project status to relevant stakeholders, steering committee, executive sponsor, and project team.
  • Provides leadership to project teams (Infrastructure Analysts, Solution Designers, and Service Delivery etc.), ensuring that stretching business objectives are set and achieved and that people objectives are fully supported. Coaches and mentors project teams, and perform Project On-Board and side by side coaching with new contractors and employees.
  • Ensures that projects are closed out and where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are captured and actioned. Produces appropriate documentation to support these processes.
  • Reports and maintains key information on the current status of all projects and provides project visibility to Region/Sector business and IT management in a common and consistent manner
  • Accountable for the End-to-End project delivery. Understands the business applications delivery resources, processes and tools and ensures that the right resources are assigned to the project

    • JOB DIMENSIONS

    Flexible to travel in Europe, up to 30% travel may be required within Belgium, Netherlands and Germany

    Manages project team members up to 10-15 located in different countries virtually; Ability to work in an international team

    Skills/Experience

    • University education (BS/BA level) or higher required
    • Proven overall IT work experience 10 + years, with experience in manufacturing and supply chain projects required
    • Strong IT background with minimum last 5 years' experience of managing complex technology projects as a project manager or delivery lead
    • Proven track of record in delivering complex projects in international and Matrix organisations, with advanced communication skills
    • 3-5 years hands on experience on project financial management, resource management and IT vendor management required
    • Minimum 5 years' experience on Project Management methodologies, PMP, Prince2, etc
    • Geographically mobile, 30% travel required within Europe
    • Business-level proficiency in English in mandatory
    • Experience in delivering projects in SAP and EDI solutions preferred
    • FMCG sector experience preferred
    • Experience in using automated tools to assist in the project management process eg Microsoft Project, HP PPM, Clarity, preferred
    • PMP certification of benefit, but not mandatory
