Communications Manager - Banking - Workplace Stategy - 7 months - Bristol - £459/day

A top retail bank based in Bristol is currently seeking a Communications Manager to join a Workplace Strategy programme for an initial 7 month period.

Overview of the Programme/Project

The Workplace Strategy Programme is one of the key strategic initiatives for Lloyds Banking Group, under which we are reviewing and rationalising the office space we have across the UK. This directly supports our goal to become a simpler and more efficient organisation. As an integral part of the programme we are also empowering colleagues to work in different ways by transforming parts of the office estate to create modern, collaborative worspaces that support greater innovation and agility.

We are currently hiring for a full-time, experienced all-round Communications Manager, with change and design experience to join our Workplace Strategy Team, and lead on the development and execution of the internal communications strategy and plan. The successful candidate will be adept at writing, confident in presenting and able to create impactful and well-designed material. They will also have meticulous attention to detail along with excellent planning and stakeholder management skills. Experience managing complex change and engagement communications is essential.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Management and delivery of the communications and engagement strategy and plan for the programme
Understand key target audiences impacted by the programme and develop/adapt plans to reach these audiences in the optimum way
Where appropriate, work with the Group's rostered agencies to produce impactful and engaging communications material to inform, inspire and support colleagues
Maintain key relationships with business stakeholders to agree colleague communication plans, logistics and delivery
Work closely with Group Corporate Affairs to optimise the communicactions approach and planning, and to identify programme milestones that may generate media or political interest
Own, maintain and develop the Communications Tracker to plan and monitor communications delivery against agreed programme scope
Produce regular inputs for stakeholder meetings, including the monthly programme Steering Committee - and attend to present communication updates where required
Monitor, track and report against the communications budget - including presenting at Spend Approval Committee to gain approval for required spend
Work closely with the Programme Managers to understand delivery timelines and requirements in order to align the communications plan and deliver content to colleagues in a timely and relevant way
Work closely with the Agile Change team to deliver communications that complement and supports the divisional change and engagement activity delivered by the Change Managers
Provide communications advice and expertise to the Head of Programme, helping to coordinate and produce content to communicate programme successes and key updates (eg presentation packs, scripts, posters etc.)
Lead and/or contribute to other activities or sub-projects requiring communications expertise, for example property branding and visuals
Adhere to best practice communications, governance and the Group's brand guidelines
Ensure all communications are accurate, timely and signed off by the appropriate stakeholders

Day-to-day task management of one Communications Assistant (based in Bristol)

Essential Skills and Experience

Excellent oral and written communication
Experence in devising and delivering extensive change & engagement communication strategies for large-scale programmes within the sector
Advanced skills in PowerPoint and Word (Photoshop desirable but not essential) and ability to produce impactful designs and layouts
People skills - stakeholder management and influencing
Presentation skills - ability to confidently and succinctly present to an audience
Ability to use judgement and work independently
Attention to detail and accuracy
Analytical skills

Experience of implementing property programmes
Finance and resourcing
