Contract - QA Test Engineer
The ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset, excellent QA process skills and experience of testing a diverse range of systems
The role is based on-site in Cork. The successful candidate for the roles will have a minimum of 4 years commercial experience.
Responsibilities:
- Review specifications to ensure full understanding of deliverables.
- Provide input as per best practice (estimating, designing, developing and executing test cases)
- Manage priorities and set expectations when faced with multiple demanding tasks.
- Adhere to and promote internal information security policies and procedures
- Develop an understanding of client business practice and procedures to support testing across application/systems(s)
- Work closely with the Development team, Project Management, Business Analysts and Business Users and Offshore teams
- Ensure that all assigned QA tasks are run to agreed schedule and to an acceptable level of quality.
- Clearly articulate and communicate testing status, and red/yellow flags, which might interfere with the achievement of QA milestones.
Profile:
- Must have 4+ cumulative years of Software Test experience
- Experience in the use of Defect Tracking tools like Microsoft TFS, HP ALM or Jira.
- Experience testing business/enterprise applications.
- Working knowledge of SQL.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Test Automation Tools, Selenium or similar tools.
- Exposure to different test methodologies (example Agile and Waterfall)
Personal Profile:
- Ability to work independently as well as part of team.
- Ability to learn new business areas quickly.
- Technical degree or equivalent experience.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
