SAP, FICO, MM, BASIS, ABAP

My Leading European Instituion has tasked me to idenify multiple SAP consultants for a new programme of work in the Heart of Brussels. This is a long term piece of work.

One of these two should have Project Management Capabilities:

  • SAP FUNDS MANAGEMENT/FICO

- University degree

- 4 years' experience (6 years if he/she also covers the Project Management function)

- English andFrench

- Financial Accounting: Functional: financial accounting, treasury management, financial regulations of the EU.

- FI, especially FI-GL, FI-AP, FI-AR, FI-BL, and new GL, MM-IV, integration with other modules

- Controlling: Functional: financial controlling and cost accounting

- Co and especially CO-OM, integration with other modules, especially with PS and FM.

  • SAP MM

- University degree,

- 4 years' experience (6 years if he also covers the Project Management function)

- English and French

- Material Management: Functional: essentially procurement management and basic stock management, title V of financial regulations of the EU

- MM and especially MM-PUR, MM-SRV, MM-IV and MM-IM, integration with other modules, especially with FI and FM and CATS

  • Basis SAP

4 years' experience + 1 year of experience in general IT

  • ABAP SAP

4 years' experience + 1 year of experience in general IT

ABAP Programming: ABAP and ABAP objects programming languages

ABAP based technologies (Dynpros, ALV tables, webdynpros, BSP, workflows, sapscripts, smart forms, Adobe forms, user-exits, enhancements, Switches, BADI, BTE),

Interfacing technologies and standards (Idocs, XML, BAPIS, batch-inputs...)

ABAP development environment (dictionary, screen painter, programming editor, debugging functions, eCATT testing, LSMW, authorizations objects...)

Nature of services:

Functional consulting identifies business process issues and requirements and transforms them into solution functions in a technical SAP environment.

This includes the following services:

  • Analyze business process problems and needs;
  • Formalize the functional requirements;
  • Propose functional and organizational solutions that could fulfil the requirements and contribute to the process optimization in the SAP context;
  • Evaluate, compare and recommend solutions, identifying and documenting advantages, inconveniences, opportunities and threats, and identifying organizational and technical consequences. This may include prototyping of solutions;
  • Produce the functional design and the detailed functional specifications;
  • Implement and document customizing settings, specify use of relevant authorization objects, and monitor progress of the remaining implementation of the functional specifications;
  • Test the solution in close relationship with the involved stakeholders;
  • Assist and support the users (second level support);
  • Solve problems and incidents.

These services may require to:

  • Conduct presentations and interactive workshops with users and stakeholders;
  • Communicate about the solution, "selling" it to the users;
  • Share expert knowledge with the internal team;
  • Evaluate effort of solution analysis and/or implementation;
  • Produce of clear and readable documentation for defined target audiences: management, key users, team and technical stakeholders, etc.
  • Understand the underlying business processes
  • Be able to read/understand ABAP code

Senior level services may include:

  • Manage a small team of peers
  • Coordinate temporarily change and support request
  • Coordinate activities with development and technical consulting
  • Limited project management services
  • Limited business process engineering services, in relation with his/her functional expertise

Development assesses functional specifications and transforms these into technical software functions in an SAP environment by applying analysis and programming expertise.

This includes the following services:

  • Analyze functional specifications and clarify missing/ambiguous information;
  • Propose technical software solutions that correspond to the functional specifications, with appropriate quality characteristics (performance, ease of use, maintainability...), and using SAP technology to its best extent;
  • Evaluate, compare and recommend solutions, identifying advantages, inconveniences, opportunities and threats, and identifying technical consequences;
  • Produce the technical design and technical specifications;
  • Implement and test solutions;
  • Provide or maintain technical documentation;
  • Support and assistance on technical software solutions.

These services may require to:

  • Communicate about the solution;
  • Share relevant knowledge with the internal team;
  • Contribute to the elicitation of needs and requirements, for example by building a prototype and participate actively to workshops with stakeholders;
  • Coordinate with consultants, other developers and other stakeholders for the implementation of the solutions;
  • Estimate required development effort (workload).
