Description

We are currently looking for a Process Safety Manager for a long term contract position with a pharmaceutical organisation based in Dublin.

The role will oversee the application and implementation of the site's Process Safety Management system to ensure best practice and compliance with all regulatory and corporate process safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities of the role will include as required:
  • Coordination of triage of site's change assessment requests and assignment of EHS evaluation of same as appropriate.
  • Carrying out of Process Safety evaluations (Safety Reviews and/or HAZOPs) for engineering and process changes being implemented by the site.
  • Supporting and review compliance with the COMAH Regulations.
  • Supporting and review compliance with the ATEX regulations.
  • Carrying out process safety inspections and audits and drive completion of open action items.
  • Generation and tracking of Process Safety Metrics.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) and represent process safety issues within site wide, cross functional activities, external audits and projects.
  • Proactive development and review of process safety SOP's and policies.
  • Walk-down of projects to ensure all specified EHS issues highlighted have been effectively closed-out prior to start-up after changes have been made.
  • Liaising with Regulatory agencies and Customers with respect to Process Safety Issues.
  • Provision of process safety training to site personnel as required by the Company Training Plan.
  • Provision of general support to EHS Team and business partners on site to deliver on the site's overall EHS objectives.
Experience:
  • A Primary Degree in Engineering or Chemistry.
  • Formal Process Safety Training preferably to degree level.
  • 5 years of similar experience desirable.
  • Appropriate experience in the Process Safety areas and must demonstrate the following essential competencies.
  • Detailed knowledge of plant equipment and processes
  • Knowledge of Safety Management and Process Safety systems
  • Good organisational skills.
  • High Attention to detail
  • Ability to act as a team leader and provide the necessary direction
  • Influencing skills, ability to work in diverse, cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to drive action plans to completion.
  • Focus on Continuous Improvement.
  • Auditing Skills are also desirable.
