Finance Manager - Fixed Asset Register

My client is a leading energy and utilities client based in Warwick, and we are currently recruiting on their behalf for a Finance Manager for Fixed Assets.
The main purpose of this role is to lead a team of Fixed Asset accountants who are responsible for:
- Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register, relevant General Ledger accounts and providing management reporting to stakeholders including Finance Business Partners.
- Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and General Ledger in line with National Grid accounting policies and control framework.
- Including ensuring the integrity of data flows from interfaced systems, transaction processing, month end close activities, balance sheet and other reconciliations, chart of account maintenance.
This role will also include the production and review of management information relating to capex including actuals, budget and forecasts.
The team will be made up of up to seven Fixed Asset accountants
Responsibilities
- Management of the Fixed Asset Register to ensure information recorded and reported is timely, accurate and in line with National Grid accounting policies
- Ensuring that Fixed Asset transactions are completed on a timely and accurate basis
- Management of the Fixed Asset close cycle at month and year end
- Maintenance of the Chart of accounts relating to Fixed Assets plus other standing data including cost centres, profit centres and WBS elements
- Capex Cash flow forecasting
- Balance sheet reconciliations including FAR/GL reconciliation and control accounts
- Proactively support the implementation of Fixed Asset accounting policies and systems changes relating to Fixed assets.
- Maintenance, support and development of SOX Controls and testing
The role also includes a number of reporting responsibilities including
- Leading on month end reporting activities:
- Lead on quarterly rolling forecast process
- Leading on interim and full year audits
- Provide support for RRP, annual and interim reporting
- Ad Hoc Reporting
Skills and Experience
- Fully Qualified Accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- Strong track record of Financial Management within a Large Corporate Environment
- Previous experience of managing a large scale Fixed Asset Register/Capex holding
- Strong hands on experience with SAP
- Good understanding of financial processes such as Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Experienced Team Leader
