Description

One of our valued clients in Spain has a requirement for an Interim Chief Operating Officer to join their business.

This role is pivotal to the efficient and effective operation of the business and will report directly to the CEO. This position will initially focus on the critical functions of the group's primary activity: vehicle and capital maintenance operations, including scaffolding, containment, fittings and infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading day to day operations, creating and implementing plans to drive effectiveness leading to improved gross margin.

The candidate will take the lead in challenging, scrutinising and reviewing existing processes and behaviours and to further design and implement the future requirements within production efficiency, workforce management, planning, review structures and interaction with human resources, H&S&E, logistics, as well as coaching and support systems.

The COO should be responsible for ensuring that all business operations are efficient and effective and responsible for the proper management of resources, distribution of services to customers and analysis of the SOP's.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be confident in using in Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Be disciplined, structured and focused on results
  • Possess the ability to interpret, analyse and present data
  • Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Have proven experience of operations management implementing and sustaining best practices
  • Develop management skills - the ability to influence and the confidence to challenge to achieve the required goals
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style. Track record in managing large teams of staff and potential conflicts.
  • Have a demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
  • Excel at operating in a fast pace, community environment
  • Be committed to get the job done with attention to detail
  • Demonstrate a willingness to take on new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments
  • Show an ability to work independently and within a team to build relationships and interact effectively
  • Have at least 8 years' experience working as a COO in a suitable industry (eg marine, construction, civil projects, aeronautic, chemical industry)
  • Be fluent in both English and Spanish
