Chief Accountant/Financial Controller - Liverpool - Negotiable - 8 Months

Public Sector Resourcing is currently seeking a Chief Accountant/Financial Controller on an 8 month contracts on behalf of our Client in the Public Sector
Location: Liverpool
Purpose of the Role:
To lead on the validation and production of Crown Commercial Service monthly Management Accounts Reporting; Statutory Accounts; and manage the Operational Finance Function.
Key Accountabilities:
Production of monthly Finance Report for SLT and input into Corporate monthly Dashboards
Lead on Annual Statutory Financial Statements and associated notes and liaison with internal and external auditors
Update Business partners and Head of Finance with any emerging issues arising from monthly reporting
Advisory support for Finance Business Partners
Deputise for Head of Finance in their absence
Support the Head of Finance and FBP's during annual business planning and budget setting and ongoing monthly forecasting
Monitor financial risks, audit actions and cash flow
Candidate requirements
- Proven experience of delivering a Chief Accountant/Financial Controller role
- Experience of effective challenging and influencing at senior manager/Director level
- Experience of engaging teams in financial information providing training and awareness
- An up to date understanding of accounting standards
- Strong leadership and management development experience
- Qualified Accountant (CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or equivalent
