Senior Policy Consultant required for a Financial Services business based in Central London. This is a 9-month contract to start ASAP, rates £ pd.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Head of Policy in a strategic role, defining the medium-term direction for the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing Policy evaluation and position papers in consultation with stakeholders
Preparing internal strategy, business case, market analysis and commercial positioning papers
Establishing roadmap agenda in consultation with Head of Policy, Programme Director, and stakeholders
Liaising and working with multiple stakeholders (banks, industry groups, payments suppliers and regulatory bodies)
Experience Required:
Excellent strategic thinking skills, allied to effective communication of concepts and ideas to a variety of stakeholders with different perspectives.
Dynamism and ability to work in a fast-paced environment to challenging timescales
Imagination, and creativity, turning concepts into plans.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, and as a self-starter
Knowledge of Financial Services and/or payment services regulation
Excellent business, market and commercial analysis skills
Strong stakeholder engagement with excellent verbal, presentational and written communication skills
Production of high quality deliverables
Payments knowledge (eg Faster Payments, Bacs, CHAPS, Cards, E-Wallet)
Experience of working with or within a regulated organisation
Experience of working within a Business or Strategy Consultancy (or equivalent internal function of FTSE250+ organisation in Corporate Development)
Public Affairs or Public Policy experience.
Knowledge of PSD2 and Open Banking
An understanding of the use of API technology in the banking sector
Experience with documenting business process and controls
