Description

Role: EHS Engineer
Location: Renfrew
Contract role (12 months)
£22.00 per hour

World leader of high quality innovative products servicing the oil and gas, gas distribution and transmission, petrochemical, shipping, water and sewerage, construction, telecommunications, landfill and brewing industries world-wide.
You will work closely with the site management and leadership team and the UK EHS Manager, to contribute to the success of the company through the continued implementation of the company environment, health and safety standards.

Job Responsibilities
Facilitate site transition to new client systems and standards
Completion of outstanding audit actions from recent company Corporate audits
Supporting others with their completion of audit actions
Maintaining site certification to ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001
Maintaining site conformance to local authority permits
Providing EHS expertise including through supporting and advising on Risk Assessments and control measures, and through participation in or leading EHS audits
Facilitating or delivering EHS Training; assisting in analysing training needs.
Working with external bodies and regulators such as Local Authority, ROSPA, EA and BSI.
Assist in managing the site requirements for Occupational Health.

Knowledge & Skills
Possesses broad knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment issues affecting a manufacturing site, through relevant prior experience.
Able to prioritise tasks and workload.
Communicates project or programme status and results to local operational management and regional EHS manager.
Communicates effectively in written and oral formats with peers, and others at varying levels within own organisation.
Has the ability to convey meaning and importance of EHS topics to non-EHS personnel, and to influence others to take appropriate action based on such information.
Works independently on assignments and knows when to ask for assistance. Can provide guidance to others in their work and input to working procedures.
Communicates with external agency representatives, and also may communicate with EHS interest groups and community members.
