Senior Sales Finance Analyst - Stockley Park - Negotiable - 12 Months

This is an excellent role requiring a very high calibre individual to perform financial accounting and management activities related to Sales for UK Pharma and ViiV. The role will be responsible for preparing quality actuals data and reports, supporting standard setting exercises and analysing data for senior management, as required. The role holder will be responsible for reviewing and monitoring of Actuals to Budget/LBE/Prior Year and the review of transactions for accuracy, appropriateness, authorisation and validity. Scope includes financial reporting, process simplification, financial management and governance. The role holder will maintain high levels of customer service for the customer contacts in line with agreed SLAs and KPIs UK Pharma Finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, co-ordinate and distribute the sales management reports on results in accordance with agreed schedules and timelines
  • Ensure integrity and rigour in the numbers and processes
  • Work with outsourced service provider to ensure services are delivered to finance as per agreed SLAs
  • Understand underlying factors impacting on operating performance and highlight areas requiring further review or attention.
  • The role will seek out and identify opportunities for standardization, simplification, and continuous process improvements
  • Supporting audit activities

Key Responsibilities include to:

  • Manage the month end reporting for Sales (UK Pharma & ViiV) to Corporate & Senior management.
  • Prepare, co-ordinate and distribute Daily Sales Report for UK Pharma & ViiV and drive process improvement in areas of responsibility.
  • Prepare Gross to Net analysis and engage with Finance Partners to understand any significant movements.
  • Analyse the actual performance against Plan, Update 2 and Monthly Forecast by therapy area
  • Prepare the Price/Volume Commentary on a quarterly basis and validate with FPs.
  • Support FLIP and Standard Settings activities for UKPH & ViiV .
  • Work closely with the Knowledge Centre on delivery of the daily sales report and metric, reviewing the process and looking for process improvements
  • Review Parallel Trade Impact.
  • Provide assistance in monthly forecasting and planning
  • Assist in preparing the slides deck for DRM & FRM.
  • Ensure Clinical Trials and One-time customer sales are recorded correctly
  • Support with audit queries and adhoc requests
  • The key process accountabilities for this role will encompass ensuring consistent, robust, timely month end process and monthly reporting as per agreed time table.
  • This role will manage the required analysis on activities related to sales and ensure accuracy and appropriateness in accordance with GSK policies. The role holder will identify and communicate to senior management the current performance. This role will also identify improvements to the processes with the objective of improving effectiveness and driving efficiency, whilst maintaining delivery of SLAs and KPIs.
  • This role will involve working with Genpact, Knowledge Centre (KC) and Financial Services and ensuring appropriate and seamless collaboration between Genpact, KC and GSK at various points in the process. This role may involve the review of analysis and reporting activities performed by Genpact and KC staff.
  • This role will be reporting to Sales and Forecasting Manager
  • This role holder will be responsible for performing the analytical and reporting requirements. The role holder will be able to adapt to changes and ensure that excellence in service delivery is maintained as the business environment changes. This role is key player to support business adapt to change or new initiatives,
  • This role holder will be involved in identifying opportunities for simplification, standardisation, and process improvements, and communicating these to management. The role holder will also be involved in the identification of appropriate business solutions to address the afore-mentioned elements.
  • The role holder will need to be able to effectively communicate with and influence the following range of people and groups:
  • Controller, UK Pharma Finance - Be able to communicate the nature of analysis performed, issues identified, and further follow-up required. Be able to present opportunities for simplification, standardisation and process improvements
  • Finance Partners & Senior Finance Members -Understand and respond to the requests and resolve requests and queries. Be able to obtain explanations for movements from plan and understand the implications
  • GSK Analysts - Be able to work with other colleagues and share best practices and experiences to ensure customers' needs are met in the most efficient and timely manner
  • Genpact employees/Finance Services/KC - Manage relationship and ensure that appropriate hand offs take place between Genpact, KC and GSK at various points in the process and that division of responsibilities between GSK and Genpact are well understood.

Education

  • Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent with 2-3 years experience (PQE levels illustrative only to act as guide for potential candidates)
  • Experience of working with GSK financial system/processes is desirable (SAP, BI, BISON
  • Experience of working in a large FTSE 100 or similar organisation)
  • Advanced numeracy, accuracy and excellent attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel and other Microsoft Office skills
  • Working knowledge of accounting, budgeting and forecasting principles
  • Ability to successfully analyse large volumes of data
  • Proven ability to work under pressure against tight and changing dead-lines and prioritise work to deliver to required timelines
  • Ability to coordinate several activities at once and quickly analyse and resolve specific problems
  • Ability to work independently and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical experience
  • Experience of GSK general ledger, financial planning and reporting system
  • Ability to work with multiple financial systems
  • Completer finisher with ability to investigate and recommend new ways of working/process improvements
