Are you an Financial Crime Assurance Manager with experience in compliance, operational risk or audit? Our client, an international bank is looking for someone with subject matter expertise in Financial Crime Risk to assist them in assurance reviews across multiple lines of their business, manage key stakeholders and assess issues and actions raised by third parties.

This is a 6 month contract based in Edinburgh.

Core requirements:

  • Ability to support decisions with sound reasoning
  • Experience in a previous compliance, operational risk, and/or audit role/s
  • Experience working in a financial services institution, understanding of relevant compliance and risk controls
  • Strong analytical, organizational and delivery skills, experience interpreting evidence and solving complex issues
  • Relevant industry Financial Crime-related formal qualification (for example, ICA Diploma)
  • Experience of interaction with external regulators
  • Experience operating in a leadership role, influencing and motivating staff to perform well and raise standards

Core responsibilities:

  • Contribute to management and assurance reviews and validation across the region and/or country and multiple lines of business.
  • Ensure that work assigned and completed under the FCRA plan meets regulatory expectations and provides senior management with up-to-date information regarding standards of compliance with applicable rules within the organisation
  • Work with considerable autonomy, dealing with issues for which there is no obvious solution while still being able to apply judgment
  • The role holder is responsible for ensuring that the assurance standards in the regional and/or country are in accordance with the Global FCRA guidance, Group Standards Manual and Functional Instruction Manual (FIM)
  • Be aware of operational risk, primarily through identification and management of financial crime compliance risk associated with the business
