Our leading UK Banking client, are recruiting for Proposition/Product Managers for contract positions based in Edinburgh.

We need Product Specialists, who are able to provide support to senior members within team, contributing to the overall business plan and income.

The business are undertaking a key piece of work to enhance their approach to ensure they deliver fair outcomes for closed book customers and to ensure that these customers receive fair outcomes across the product life cycle.

Successful candidates will be responsible for developing their approach to ongoing management of the product range and for carrying out product reviews to ensure our products continue to provide fair outcomes for customers. They will be part of a team of proposition managers responsible for carrying out ongoing product management and governance, including product reviews.

Successful candidates will be responsible for coordinating their workload and ensuring work is delivered to required quality and timeliness standards.

The customer is at the heart of the programme and the candidate will need to look from the customers' eyes in the work in which they carry out.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Carry out product reviews
  • Monitor performance of products against key customer metrics
  • Analysis/Deep dives of product performance variances
  • Development of action plans to address areas identified through product reviews
  • Delivery of identified actions
  • Review/identify improvements to product management process in support of achieving fair customer outcomes
  • Stakeholder management
  • Develop strong relationships with key business stakeholders

Key Skills/Background Required


  • Working product knowledge of Pensions, Life Assurance & Investments
  • Knowledge of heritage (Legacy) pensions and investment products business and their features and charges
  • Experience of working on projects, being able to give direction as well as taking responsibility for the outputs
  • Able to write customer facing communications
  • Work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Be comfortable making recommendations and taking decisions
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly, contractor mentality
  • Drive and ability to work under own initiative
  • Champion the voice of the customer - blending technical detail of the products with ensuring the customer understands it
  • Communication Skills & Impact - ability to present insights, proposals and issues in an effective, clear and succinct manner, verbally and visually.
  • Risk, Compliance and Regulatory Management - ensures that risks are identified, managed and escalated where appropriate. Compliance with all relevant risk measures, internal policies and processes.
