Corporate Finance Manager - NHS - 3 months - London - £270 via umbrella

You will be working as a member of the Corporate and Commercial Finance Team in delivering a comprehensive business partnering service, taking the lead in ensuring delivery of financial duties and strategy. You will be responsible for providing professional accounting and budgetary advice to the Business Units to enable them to deliver their Business Plan which is agreed as part of the Financial Plan.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • The role supports the business units in driving transformation as well as value for money in planning, commissioning and service delivery. The role is designed to build a combination of subject matter expertise and technical skills to develop a strong service delivery.
  • To ensure that the financial performance is managed effectively to achieve statutory duties and earn a positive reputation for timely accurate and clear reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • To work with colleagues in the Business Units to produce monthly budget reports for all activities, including commentary, exception analysis, identifying responsible directors/managers and references to action plans where appropriate. To coordinate and produce regular performance and ad hoc reports for stakeholders.
  • To use regularly produced performance information including benchmarking to identify opportunities for improvement, establish targets and measure improvement as plans are developed and implemented by responsible directors and managers. To produce and develop regular financial reports and KPIs that complies with current NHS best practice.
  • To manage the financial performance and KPI's of Service Level Agreements as required.
  • To support the income generation activities and the development and management of future income streams for the Business Units.

Essential Experience

  • CCAB or CIMA part qualified or AAT equivalent
  • NHS experience
  • In depth experience of management accounting, including budget setting, month end activities, related financial procedures and processes and reporting.
  • Must be experienced in NHS financial systems and processes including Oracle
