Customs and Trade Manager - NOVJP (m/f)

Main tasks:
  • Define and maintain up-to-date information on Global Standards, Policies and Training documents in the area of customs and trade according to the legal regulation
  • Develop, set up, and manage global trade compliance programs, monitor using internal controls (CTC controls), perform the re-audit on high risk countries
  • Ensure the corrective actions and recommendations are monitored and closed; the status report of the project is up-to-date; and the closure of the implementation is performed
  • Establish global guidelines on processes around classification (import & export), Country of Origin; Duty savings opportunities, licensing, technical data, recordkeeping, 3rd party compliance management (customs brokers, agents etc.) and auditing/ reporting to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls
  • Develop, collect, analyze and find the gap on the Key Performance Indicators of the region for improvement and avoid compliant issues
  • Understand the issues, provide executive summary to the management and communicate closely with outside attorneys to clarify the position regarding specific issues, develop defense strategies and assess alternatives
  • Collaborate with other cross-functional team (Order Management, Legal, Funds-flow, Tax, Supply Chain Setup, regional SCM, cross division) to achieve business objectives in efficient and effective way
  • Collaborate, manage and support global projects with the expertise in Customs and Trade Compliance area
  • Ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements (including record management) and continuous improvement of quality relevant processes within area of responsibility
  • Ensure the Center of Excellence operation is according to the management expectations, bring the efficiency across the network and provide the correct and reliable master data within customs and trade


Main qualifications
  • Profound experience in role with global responsibility in multi-national industry or in-depth experience in operational customs and trade role with local or regional responsibility in EU, North America, Asia etc. preferably in Health Care, Consumer Goods, Chemical or other process industry
  • Higher education (Master degree) in International Trade, Business Administration or Law
  • English (written and spoken), German and 3rd language is a plus
  • Good knowledge on customs/trade, free trade agreement and preferential origin
  • Ability to influence, to develop trust and to build strong working relationships
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across entities and functions
  • Good understanding of how ERP functionality can effectively support fulfilment of trade compliance requirements
  • Very good knowledge of customs processes, law, regulations, concepts
  • Global customs expertise
