Description

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Perform business analysis to elicit requirements, user stories and create documentation such as Business Requirements Documents, Functional Requirements Documents and Solution Documents for client on boarding.
  • Lead requirements/design workshops with clients, putting together material to help elicit and/or clarify requirements in a structured, clear and well presented manner.
  • Lead or participate in multiple projects by completing and updating project documentation; managing project scope; adjusting schedules when necessary; determining daily priorities; ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones; following proper escalation paths; and managing customer and supplier relationships.
  • Manage discussions with internal teams such as the Product, Service Delivery, Control and IT teams as well as vendor teams where required to ensure changes are appropriately understood, managed and supported throughout the change life cycle.
  • Identify, create and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and design at a complex level; focusing on quality improvement and data management; ensuring data is reliable and valid; developing process improvements or re-engineering and recommending elimination; integrating new systems and processes with existing ones; and partnering with internal and external customers to ensure systems provided meet the long-term business strategies
  • Identify and support management of RAID (Risk, Assumption, Issue, Dependency) for the project, working closely with the Programme Manager and Product Owner.
  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders such as IT, Product, Control and Service Delivery teams; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognising and capitalising on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organisational changes and new responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities to increase adoption of technology solutions and customer satisfaction
  • Contribute in maintaining project schedules where required by contributing to/developing project plans and specifications, estimating time and resources, monitoring milestone completion, tracking all phases of the project life cycle, providing timely reporting of issues that impact project progress, coordinating actions and resolving conflicts
  • Develop and where required execute test plans to ensure business solutions are appropriately quality checked before rolling out to clients.

Knowledge and Experience required for the role:

  • Ability to structure workshops and present confidently in front of clients.
  • Strong knowledge of Markets products and associated post trade operational processes with specific functional expertise in one of Middle Office, Settlements or Asset Services for Cash Equities is highly desirable
  • Demonstrable experience of having worked on and delivered projects with high degrees of complexity.
  • Experience of working as a business analyst in both Business Change and Technology Change is desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor degree and 5 -10+ years of practical experience in senior business analyst roles
  • Experience of working with internal IT teams as well as external vendors for system changes
  • Experience of working in agile team and delivering via sprints is highly desirable.
  • Strong experience and proven track record that can be demonstrated in delivering complex business and IT system related changes and documenting business/functional requirements.
  • Flexibility in approach, and the ability to show initiative and respond quickly to changing situations.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and work to bring clarity to requirements by effectively engaging clients or partners.
  • Excellent documentation skills for functional specifications and/or presentations to clients
  • Excellent client facing skills, with experience of managing client relationships either external clients or in a Front Office environment
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and deliver results to a high standard, escalating where required.
  • Strong leadership and experience of functional leadership of junior BA resources (note: this role does not require direct management of any resources)
  • Excellent 360 degree communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive 'can do' attitude in all aspects of performing job duties.
  • Planning, time management and resource management skills (for small projects)
  • Sound understanding of IT infrastructure and software development life cycle in the context of system changes
  • Ability to execute role with a high level of autonomy while being mindful of when to seek guidance and approval
