Description

Our client are a large local government organisation and are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join their team.

This is initially a 6 month contract which may be extended for the right applicant. Our client is looking for someone who can come on board and lead and direct the financial management and administration carried out by the service and assist the CFO and Chief Accountant when required.

The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising all accounting arrangements for specified service committees so as to ensure compliance with accounting standards. You will provide CIPFA guidance and legislative requirements including the production of final accounts, budget estimates and development/maintenance of budgetary control systems. You will contribute a corporate input to inter-departmental working groups a corporate management meetings and giving advice to Directors and cost centre managers to ensure that corporate financial policies and strategies are applied in the best interests of the client.

To be considered for this role you will be a full member of the CCAB with a strong understanding of legislation and best practice in accounting in Local Government.
