A government department in Melbourne is seeking the services of Strategic Test Manager to join a project within a larger transformation program.

Skills and Experience:

  • The test manager will have relevant hands on experience in and practical knowledge of test and evaluation, verification and validation, particularly in the areas of test planning and test reporting and operational test and evaluation. In particular, the test manager must have experience in being able to liaise and work with external dependent third parties and various internal teams which will play an integral role in end-to-end testing.
  • The test manager will be required to develop and execute User Acceptance Test and guide third parties in fulfilling their contracted responsibilities relating to testing. The test manager must having worked on major transformation projects as the overall testing lead and understand all facets of testing (functional, non-functional, etc).
  • Relevant tertiary or industry qualification (eg ITIL, ISTQB, CAT)
  • Experience independently developing processes, strategies, tools and frameworks for testing.
  • Experience reviewing and implementing improvement to strategy and processes.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrable experience across the following testing disciplines and supporting technologies: Test automation, Performance/load/stress, Accessibility, Interoperability, System, Functional, Integration, Regression, User Acceptance o experience using JIRA
  • Well-developed organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise and manage tasks to meet agreed service standards
  • Excellent problem solving, problem management and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to build relationships, communicate effectively and to influence a variety of stakeholders including programme executives, project managers, technical staff and business partners/customers
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to develop reports, analyse & interpret outputs and initiate or recommend appropriate action
  • The ability to quickly gain expertise in complex business systems whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of the System Development Life Cycle and service management principles

The role requires the candidate to be an Australian Citizen and hold Baseline security clearance prior to commencement.
